I'm watching the bachelorette. two comments: does anyone else think these guys are uber lame? and i seriously need something better to do than watch reality tv. this one guy just said "i've just got a lot of love to give" and another guy yelled at him that he was a "country singing turd". apparently, this turd has a girlfriend back at home. can she not see his disgusting-ness from a mile away? i can. ugh. i hate swarmy guys like that. major HATE.

my pants have a hole in them.
what do you do when your life starts to fall apart? not in a complete way, but a piece-by-piece way. how does that even happen? one day you're just trucking along, not ecstatically happy but content, then ouch- you get hit by the truck. the impact isn't the greatest feeling in the world.

the weekend has ended :(
this weekend was fun! went downtown friday night, saw friends saturday night :) i hadn't been out in a whileeee.
my cousin (mom's sister's daughter) had a baby boy this morning. he is hooked up to lots of machines because he is 12 weeks premature. i hope he's going to be ok! on top of that, my other cousin (her brother) just found out that he has cancer. he's only 27. i am so sad that this can happen. he had surgery last week but it had already spread to his chest and brain so now he has to undergo 4 rounds of chemo. :(

It is raininggggg so very hard outside. Scott is out playing golf. Although I'm not sure how well that worked out for him. So... the job interview last week went well (I thought) but they haven't called me yet :( I don't understand! I had to do an assessment test and it went really well. They told me that it did. They were doing second interviews, I thought I did well enough to at least get called back for that. depressed :(

Scott and I are leaving for Florida in TWELVE DAYS!! I am excited. I loveeee Florida and I loveee vacations. Who doesn't? When Scott and I drive far away places, we give each other "100 mile" presents to make it more fun :) Unfortunately, I am at a loss for ideas. I've bought him a cute tee from Target so far but I'm kinda out of ideas. hmmm...

the bachelor
w.t.f.
It's hard to feel TOO sad for any of these people because they chose to go on a reality show to find love and well, that's stupid. There is a reason that these things don't work out- you don't fall in "love", you fall in love with the experience. If someone took me on helicopter rides everyday and then took me to New Zealand I would probably fall in love with them too! But anyway... I do feel bad for Melissa. Surprise, your fiance loves someone else! Surprise, he's wanted her for the past 6 weeks! Surprise, this is all on national TV! Cheers! Ugh. I'm ready for these people to go away. He sucks.

i need an intervention.
So anyone that knows me knows that I'm not really a shopper. Working at the mall for a year will DEFINITELY turn you off to retail. 90% of the clothes that I buy come from Target, because I love Target and their clothes are great. So can someone please explain my recent obsession with buying new clothes?! In the past five days, I've bought a Michael Kors jacket, a Max Studio dress and another dress from Target that I bought on impulse because it had pockets (I will buy anything with pockets. I hope I never find a wedding dress that has them). helpppp meeeee.

so i'm back.
i forgot about my blog for the past 2-ish months. my bad. i've been looking(ish) for a job and working at my current (much-hated) job. finding a job is hard! having no apparent skills and a degree that isn't very specific are not helpful things. i want the economy to get better now- k, thanks. unfortunately, most say that this will probably last for another year or so. great! just in time for my wedding.
scott and i are thinking of eloping to hawaii. thoughts?

i want to go on vacation. i haven't been ANYWHERE since we got back from mexico in september. not even on a weekend trip. i get claustrophobic in this apartment. it's just so small.
i brought a bunch of stuff out to work on a project and i have done nothing. except make a mess, natch. maybe i'll get on that. after i finish my chips. chips come first.
i think allie is bored with me. she keeps getting up to come over here just to look at me and sigh. then she walks back across the room. diva.
oh yeah. i'm graduating thursday at 11am. WHOO! so early...

superstar
I'm watching britney: for the record. i never want to be famous. that looks exhausting.
i have 3 days of college class left as an undergrad. that's kindaaa crazy. especially when i don't know what i'm gonna do after graduation. it's like i should be stepping into a new chapter and moving on with things, but the only thing that is changing is that i won't go to school everyday anymore. i need a job. stupid economy. but at the same time... i feel like i'm trying to go in the right direction. i don't want to take a job just because it will pay my bills. i don't want to go down a path that i could get caught up in and not like. i know that i don't want to wake up in 5 or 10 years and wonder what i'm doing with my life and have to start over. i want to do it right this time around.
i'm really sleepy. i didn't sleep well last night. ick! i hate when i don't sleep like i should. it ruins my whole day.
23 days til christmas. 16 days til graduation. whoo!

OBAMA 2008!!!!
hurray!
I am extremely disappointed in those that supported Obama... up until it was actually time to vote. By either just not going or falling victim to the "Bradley effect" (I didn't know that was actually possible, but thank you all for proving me wrong), you did a disservice to yourself and to the country. I'm also disappointed in all the Facebook "status updates" about how Obama is a terrorist, he is going to kill babies, and small businesses won't be able to function under his tax plan.
Wake up America. Abortion is already legal, it isn't going anywhere. Obama is trying to HELP small businesses, not hurt them. In my opinion, if you're making $250k PROFIT (not revenue), you can pay more taxes. That is a lot of money. Why would you NOT pay more money than people that are making $10-50k a year?
It's also offensive that people assume that some voted for Obama just because it was the "cool" thing to do and that we should "regret" it and that "in 4 years, we'll see...".
What?
I'm sure some people did that. Whatever. You may have voted for McCain because your parents did. You may have voted for him because you couldn't imagine a black president in office (I live in South Carolina, I heard this at least 15 times yesterday). Most people don't follow the issues like they should before making an educated vote. That's democracy. Oh well.
But to say that is why everyone voted for Obama? Please. Some of us actually followed the issues and have been following Obama's career since he was elected to Senate in 2006. Some of us have been following John McCain since he ran in 2000. Some of us are political science majors and do this everyday of their life. But that's mostly just me.
Everyone that voted has an equal say in the outcome. I commend everyone that voted and I'm truly sorry if your candidate didn't win. I would be equally upset if McCain had made a victory speech last night instead of Obama. But, America, it didn't happen. I keep hearing how a vote for Obama wasn't "patriotic" and it wasn't "a vote for the country".
Guess what is patriotic? Guess what is good for your country?
Supporting your president-elect. He WILL be your president. He is now a world leader (and the world overwhelmingly supported him over McCain). On January 20, 2009 change will be coming to America. Show some respect to people that support him and show respect for the democratic process.

tomorrow! tomorrow!
and election day is in...
8 hours!!
most polls don't open until 7am, but whatever. i'm excited!! this election is historic. it may be the beginning of the end of the republican party. america could have its first black president. it could have its first female VP... although i hope not.
the only thing for certain at this point is that turnout will hit record-breaking numbers. in america, a "good" turnout is considered to be around 50%, and that is somewhat rare. i don't understand WHY people don't care enough to go out and vote. even my own fiance doesn't want to vote because he thinks that his "vote won't count". yes, we live in a very red state. yes, it is highly unlikely that obama will take SC.
but the 2000 election was decided by a little over 500 votes. how could you think you don't matter? how can people say that they don't count??
regardless of your party or ideology, just go vote.
